GENUG - ENOUGH

Da ich beim Herstellen der letzte Seife meinen Mixer "kaputt gemixt" habe, muss meine neue Seife erst mal noch warten. Aber da das Wetter im Moment einfach nur schlecht ist, dachte ich, dass ich wieder einmal Badepralinen machen könnte. Eigentlich wollte ich das auf den Herbst verschieben. Aber es ist so kalt (und bis auf 1800 M. ü. M. hat es Schnee!!!) und verregnet, dass ich das schon jetzt gemacht habe. Ich habe alles nach bewährtem Rezept gemacht, aber die Dinger wurden einfach nicht hart. Nachdenken, grübeln... Ich glaube, dass ich zuviel ätherisches Öl verwendet habe. Ich habe die Mischung einem Seifenrezept entnommen und nicht der Menge der Badepralinen angepasst. Also nochmals erwärmen und mehr Öl, Natron und Milchpulver beifügen, abkühlen, ausformen, warten... wieder weich... Nach etlichen Versuchen habe ich es aufgegeben und einfach noch eine Riesenportion Sheabutter und Kokosfett hinzugefügt... Wenn's jetzt nicht hart wird... dann weiss ich auch nicht. Für jetzt habe ich erst Mal genug von allem! Genug vom schlechten Wetter, genug von Missgeschicken, genug vom Regen...

The last soap I did ruined my mixer. So my next soap has to wait for a while. Instead I thought (because the weather is more like sitting inside: cold, rainy (there's even snow down to 1800 meters!!!) I would do some bathmelts. I used a recipe I've tried out before. But it wouldn't go hard. I thought of the reason for this and the only reason is: too much of the essential oil. I used the quantities of a soap recipe and that was obviously too much. Hence I added more oil, sodium and milk powder... but nothing helped. They were still too soft. I gave up and added a big portion of sheabutter and cocoanut oil as a last trial. So we'll see. I have enough of everything! Enough of the bad weather, enough of misshappenings, enough from the rain...

Verregnet, verregneter, am verregnesten - rainy, rainier, rainiest...

Ich dachte, dass die Badesaison nun vorbei ist. Falsch gedacht: es regnet und ist saukalt. Also ab in die Küche und Badezusätze herstellen. Von links nach rechts: blütenmeer (bathmelts), pimp up your bath (badebomben) und feenkuss (badepralinen).

I thought that the bath season was over. I was wrong: it rains and it is really, really cold. Hence I went to the kitchen to make some ingredients for a bath.

Darf ich vorstellen: tigr. Ganz einfach zu machen und schön in der Optik, finde ich. Man giesst den Seifenleim abwechselnd in einer Geraden in die Blockform. Zuerst dachte ich, der Seifenleim sei zu flüssig. Es sah so aus, als ob sich die verschiedenen Seifenleime vermischen würden und ich dachte, dass nun eine Topfmarmorierung entsteht... Beim Aufschneiden kam die grosse Überraschung:

May I introduce you to: "tigr" (tiger). It was a very easy swirl and I think it looks really nice. All you need to do is to pour the lyesolution in one line into the mold and change colours. First it looked like the colours are going to be mixed, like with the in the pot swirl. But when I cut the soap... this is how it looks like:

Verseift habe ich: Olivenöl, Kokosöl, Sheabutter, Rapsöl, Arganöl, Natriumhydroxid, Wasser, Fichtennadelöl, Citronellaöl, Lavendelöl und braune, gelbe und grüne Tonerde. 

Ich habe beim Färben mit der braunen Tonerde richtig hunger bekommen - es sah aus wie Schokolade. Wenn da das Natriumhydroxid nicht wäre... ich hätte glatt reingebissen!;)

I used: olive oil, cocoa oil, sheabutter, rapeseed oil, argan oil, NaOH, Water, spruce oil, citronella oil, lavender oil and brown, yellow and green clay.
I really got hungry when I was working with the brown clay - it looked like chocolate. It only there was no NaOH... I would have tried a bit.

Meine Lieben

Auf diese Seife bin ich mächtig stolz! Die Technik nennt sich "Elemental Swirl" (also Elementmarmorierung). Mir kam dann aber spontan den Namen "iisvogl" (Eisvogel) in den Sinn und darum kommt sie auch in den Seifenzoozyklus.;)

Drin hat es: Kokosöl, Distelöl, Sonnenblumenöl, Arganöl, Rapsöl, Leinöl und 5 verschiedene Tonerde, plus Blaupaste.

I'm really proud of this piece of soap! The technic is called elemental swirl. But when I cut it i immediatly thought of a kingfisher - therefore it also belongs to the zoo!

It consists of: cocoa oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, argan oil, rapeseed oil, linseed oil and 5 different pigments and a thing called "blaupaste" in german. I have no idea what this is in English!

Verpackung - How to wrap things

Wie verpacke ich diese drei Seifentöpfe und wie und wo bringe ich die Banderole an? Das war meine Sonntagnachmittagsaufgabe. So wirklich transportfähig ist meine Lösung nicht. Muss sie ja auch nicht unbedingt sein. 

How do I pack these bowls and where do I put the description? This was my sunday afternoon task. My solution is not really transportable. But it doesn't need to be actually.

Also... wenn ich auf diversen Blogs so schaue, was da produziert wird... dann ist das wirklich wie im Zoo! Hier also mein ganz persönlicher Zoo - ich fand die verschiedenen Marmoriertechniken so spannend, dass ich es natürlich auch ausprobieren musste!

Eigentlich wollte ich meine erste Zebramarmorierung in den Farben schwarz, lila und grün machen. Aus dem Lila wurde dann Braun... Es ist noch nicht ein richtiges Zebra... aber trotzdem gefällt sie mit gut. 

Zum ersten Mal habe ich auch noch Salz verseift. Das gute Stück ist schon jetzt steinhart!

Drin sind: Olivenöl, Kokosfett, Rapsöl, Sonnenblumenöl, Salz und Tonerden.

So... if I'm having a look around various blogs what other soapmakers are producing... it's really a zoo! I find these different methods of swirling so interesting that I wanted to try them as well. So here we go with my very personal zoo, starting with the zebra. Actually I wanted to use green, black and lila for the swirl. The lila turned out as brown... Also... the swirl didn't turn out as a propre zebra... but I still like it. 

For the first time I also used salt. The soap is already very, very hard!

Furthermore there is oliveoil, cocoaoil, rapeseedoil, sunfloweroil, salt and pigments in.
