Ok... der 4. Teil meiner Seifenzookollektion war die Leopardenmarmorierung. Dabei ist es SEHR, SEHR wichtig, dass der Seifenleim richtig dickflüssig ist. Das heisst: mixen was das Zeugs hält! Gedacht, getan... aber als ich den Seifenleim in die Spritzsäcke gefüllt habe, wurde mir schlagartig klar, dass er viel zu dünnflüssig ist. Ich habe es trotzdem versucht, jedoch gleich wieder aufgegeben. Anstatt Leopardenpunkte wurde halt gelöffelt. Sieht auch ganz nett aus, finde ich.
Ok... the 4th part of my soap zoo collection was the leopard swirl. It is VERY, VERY important that you mix the solution for a long time until it is very thick. I mixed and mixed... til I thought that will do it. Wrong I was! It still was far too liquid and here is the result. Instead of nice leopard dots the solution floated away. So I gave up and used a spoon to mix it. Anyway I like the way this soap looks like. It is simply not the leopard swirl.
Das war der 1. Versuch. Beim zweiten Versuch habe ich gemixt und gemixt... Bis ich Bedenken hatte ob das mein neuer Mixer auch wirklich mitmacht. Ich habe mindestens 15 Minuten lang gerührt! Alles klappte wunderbar, obwohl die Farbe nicht so ausfiel, wie ich mir das vorstellte. Das Rot erinnert mich an Aufschnitt und das Schwarz ist sehr grau ausgefallen. Aber die Punkte... Die sind mir wirklich gelungen, finde ich. ABER: ich vergass, dass man, wenn man mit Sole siedet (Wasser + Salz), die Seife bereits nach ca. 6 Stunden ausformen und schneiden sollte. Wenn man länger wartet, kann die Seife brechen. Und ja, genau das ist passiert. Ich habe kurzerhand die zerbrochenen Stücke wieder zusammengedrückt... Ich hoffe, sie werden halten.
For the second trial I mixed even longer... until I had a very thick solution - like thick honey. Everything went well, apart from the colour. The "red" reminds me of a piece of meat and the "black" is more of a grey. This time I also wanted to try another recipe. This time there was salt in it. I totally forgot that, if you have salt in your soap, you have to cut the soap much earlier than normal. Means after about 6 hours your soap is ready to cut. I cut the soap the next morning and unfortunately it broke into pieces. I tried to stick them together somehow. So I hope that the soap wont fall into pieces again when being used.
3. und letzer Versuch... Diesmal wusste ich, was zu tun war. Diese Leopardin war mir eine gute Lehrmeisterin! Ich habe das gleiche Rezept wie beim 2. Versuch genommen, alles schön lange gemixt und nach 6 Stunden ausgeformt. Leider... hatte ich mich mit den Mengen vertan und hatte plötzlich mehr roten als weissen Seifenleim. Mir gefällt die Variante vom 2. Versuch besser. Trotzdem bin ich zufrieden mit dem Resultat. Es ist wirklich ausserordentlich wichtig, dass der Seifenleim wie zähflüssiger Honig ist. Der Nachteil dabei: es wird viel schwieriger die Lufblasen herauszuklopfen.
Third and last trial was with the same recipe as the second version. This time I knew what I have to do. This leopard lady was a good teacher! Unfortunately I misscalculated the portions and suddenly I had more red solution than white and I had to do the spots vice versa. I liked the second version better. But well... nothing is perfect, no? After 6 hours the soap was ready to cut! Everything went well. No cracks, propper spots...
It is really very important that your solution is very hard. BUT that also means it is more difficult to deal with the air in the soap. You can still see some bubbles in my soap.
Fazit: Mir gefällt die Leopardenmarmorierung. ABER: sie ist wirklich aufwendig in der Herstellung und erfordert einiges an Können und Geduld. Ich glaube aber nicht, dass ich sie nochmals sieden werde, die Leopardenfrau.
Conclusion: I do like the leopard swirl. BUT: it is time consuming and needs some skills and patience! I don't think that I am going to do it again, the leopard lady.
