Auf diese Seife bin ich mächtig stolz! Die Technik nennt sich "Elemental Swirl" (also Elementmarmorierung). Mir kam dann aber spontan den Namen "iisvogl" (Eisvogel) in den Sinn und darum kommt sie auch in den Seifenzoozyklus.;)

Drin hat es: Kokosöl, Distelöl, Sonnenblumenöl, Arganöl, Rapsöl, Leinöl und 5 verschiedene Tonerde, plus Blaupaste.

I'm really proud of this piece of soap! The technic is called elemental swirl. But when I cut it i immediatly thought of a kingfisher - therefore it also belongs to the zoo!

It consists of: cocoa oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, argan oil, rapeseed oil, linseed oil and 5 different pigments and a thing called "blaupaste" in german. I have no idea what this is in English!

Verpackung - How to wrap things

Wie verpacke ich diese drei Seifentöpfe und wie und wo bringe ich die Banderole an? Das war meine Sonntagnachmittagsaufgabe. So wirklich transportfähig ist meine Lösung nicht. Muss sie ja auch nicht unbedingt sein. 

How do I pack these bowls and where do I put the description? This was my sunday afternoon task. My solution is not really transportable. But it doesn't need to be actually.

Also... wenn ich auf diversen Blogs so schaue, was da produziert wird... dann ist das wirklich wie im Zoo! Hier also mein ganz persönlicher Zoo - ich fand die verschiedenen Marmoriertechniken so spannend, dass ich es natürlich auch ausprobieren musste!

Eigentlich wollte ich meine erste Zebramarmorierung in den Farben schwarz, lila und grün machen. Aus dem Lila wurde dann Braun... Es ist noch nicht ein richtiges Zebra... aber trotzdem gefällt sie mit gut. 

Zum ersten Mal habe ich auch noch Salz verseift. Das gute Stück ist schon jetzt steinhart!

Drin sind: Olivenöl, Kokosfett, Rapsöl, Sonnenblumenöl, Salz und Tonerden.

So... if I'm having a look around various blogs what other soapmakers are producing... it's really a zoo! I find these different methods of swirling so interesting that I wanted to try them as well. So here we go with my very personal zoo, starting with the zebra. Actually I wanted to use green, black and lila for the swirl. The lila turned out as brown... Also... the swirl didn't turn out as a propre zebra... but I still like it. 

For the first time I also used salt. The soap is already very, very hard!

Furthermore there is oliveoil, cocoaoil, rapeseedoil, sunfloweroil, salt and pigments in.

Die Musiker von heute... Ich bin wohl von gestern... Immer noch mit Papiernoten unterwegs... will heissen, einen Rucksack voller Noten - schöne Schlepperei!

These musicians from today... I must be from yesterday... I still use paper music... means: carry around a heavy rucksack full of notes...

Pilvi - Wolke - Cloud

Ich habe mich ja in diese runden Formen verliebt. Die liegen schön in der Hand und ecken nicht so an wie die Blockstücke. Aber... das Marmorieren ist eine echte Herausforderung. Ich bin gespannt, wie sich das weiterentwickelt und ob und wie sich "Blockformmarmorierungen" auf runde Formen übertragen lassen. Verseift habe ich Kokosfett, Sesamöl, Schwarzkümmelöl und Mandelöl. Gefärbt mit blauer Tonerde. Sie duftet... scheusslich. Viel habe ich von Lemon-Verbena gehört und dachte, dass ich das auch mal ausprobieren sollte. Also, ganz ehrlich, ich finde das riecht nach Abwaschmittel. Zudem habe ich noch ein Parfümöl namens "Nautica" bestellt und das gefällt mir auch nicht sonderlich. Da dachte ich: vielleicht sollte ich das mischen? Falsch gedacht... jetzt riecht es noch schlimmer. Brauchen kann man sie allemal.

Pilvi kommt übrigens aus dem Finnischen und bedeutet Wolke.

As you know I've fallen in love with these round molds. They really feel good in the hands, smoother somehow. But... swirling is more tricky! I'm looking forward to experimenting and see which swirls also work in these round molds. 

I used coconut oil, sesame oil, black cumin oil, almond oil. I used some pigments to colour the soap. The scent... well... that's another story. If you ask me it smells aweful. I mixed lemon-verbena and a perfume called nautica toghether and it smells like a strong cleaning agent... not really my thing. But well, one can still use the soap!

Letzte Woche war ich wieder einmal Gast in Irland. Das Unglaubliche: ich sah während der ganzen Woche KEINEN einzigen Tropfen Regen. Für einmal war das Wetter also VIEL besser als hier in der Schweiz. Eine wahre Rarität!

Last week I was once more a guest in Ireland. Unbelievable but true: I didn't see a single drop of rain. The weather was much better there than here in Switzerland - that doesn't happen so often...
