Licht - Light

Ich hatte kürzlich die Gelegenheit meine Seifen in einem Frisörladen auszustellen. Sie standen nicht in der Sonne, aber natürlich im hellen Schaufenster und das ca. 4 Wochen. Und schaut... was mit der Farbe passiert ist! Links ist die Seife, die im Schaufenster gelegen hat und rechts ein Stück, welches immer brav im Lager lag...

Recently I had the possibility to put my soaps to a hairdresser and they presented them in their shop window. They weren't in the sun but of course it is very bright in a shop window. I left them there for about 4 weeks. Look what happened with the colour! On the left you can see the soap which was in the shop window. On the right the original...

Die Seife enthält: Olivenöl, Babassuöl, Bienenwachs, Jojobaöl, Rizinusöl, Honig, Zucker, ätherisches Lavendelöl und gefärbt habe ich mit Indigo. Die Farben haben sich in dieser Zeit stark verändert. Das Indigo ist in der Schaufensterversion viel blauer geworden, als es im Original je war... Dass das Weiss sich aufhellt (das Original ist mehr gelb als weiss) war ja klar. Aber beim Blau bin ich erstaunt. Schön, dass man mit Indigo ein so schönes Blau hinkriegt! Trotzdem mag ich meine Seifen nicht zuerst 4 Wochen ins Licht stellen... 

The soap consists of: olive oil, babassu oil, bees wax, jojoba oil, castor oil, honey, sugar, essential lavender oil and indigo for colouring. The colours changed a lot in these 4 weeks. The indigo turned into a really nice blue and the "white" became proper white (which was sort of clear). Although I like the side effect of the shop window... I won't leave my soaps in the bright light just because of the colour change...

Mein Koffer und ich - my suitcase and me

Darf ich vorstellen: Mein Koffer! Koffermärkte spriessen gegenwärtig wie Pilze aus dem Boden - an jedem Wochenende findet irgendwo in der Schweiz einer statt. So auch gestern, Heimspiel sozusagen: 1. Koffermarkt in Obwalden, auf dem geschichtsträchtigen Landenberg. Und zum ersten Mal mit dabei: mein neuer, alter Koffer. 

May I introduce you to my suitcase. I think originally the idea comes from the states where you sell stuff out of your trunk. "We" (whoever "we" is) converted the idea into the "suitcase market". You bring your suitcase filled with homemade stuff and you sell it together with other sellers out of your suitcase. 

Yesterday one of these markets was hold in my hometown Sarnen. And for the first time I brought my new, old suitcase with me.

So ein Koffer ist für mich viel einfacher zu gestalten, als ein ganzer Stand! Klein, kompakt, übersichtlich... eine feine Sache also. 

I really like the idea of this type of market as for me it is much easier to decorate my suitcase than a whole stand! It's small, you have a clear view... a really good thing then.

Und wie immer: gefüllt mit lauter feinen Seifen. Ein paar neue, ein paar altbewährte... Ein paar Stimmen aus dem Publikum:

Du lieber Himmel - Oh heavens!

Es ist ja wirklich lange her, seit ich das letzte Mal etwas geschrieben habe! Viel ist passiert, ich bin viel am Arbeiten und so vergeht die Zeit natürlich auch schneller. Und nochmals ist mir ein Unfall passiert. Irgendetwas, ich habe noch nicht herausgefunden was, hat nicht funktioniert bei dieser Seife. Obwohl es sich um ein erprobtes Rezept handelt! Liebe Seifenschülerinnen... auch mir passiert manchmal sowas!

Time flies! It's been ages since my last post. Again... an accident happened. I have no clue what went wrong as I used an old recipe. Well... dear soap students... it can happen even to me!
